I did submit in time... I think with around an hour to spare. I solved the explorer problems by using the reflection api to clear the board of all obstacles (and also clearing the move count ;-D).
Anyway, Ariel has offered to try to get both Egor and me the first prize, which is totally awesome on his part; in the event that falls through, I already have the book and don't drink coffee!
