As mentioned in static websites, you can use software to easily create clean HTML web pages.
A good program (for Windows) for such purposes is Microsoft Expression Web, which is now available for free.
Task: Download and Install Microsoft Expression Web.
After you install and open Expression Web, click on Site>New Site to create your first site. Give your site a name and hit "enter". This will create a folder with a single file called “default.html”.
Whenever you go to a website (like "example.com") without specifying a page to visit on it, it should send you the homepage of the site, which is usually called “default.html” or “index.html”.
If your web host uses a different default name, make sure to name your home file accordingly.
