There are many free or cheap ways to host a static website. Here are a few:
Easy:
Both these hosts make it easy to host your website quickly, but they charge $5/month to use a custom domain.
Techie:
Github pages is free, while Amazon S3 is extremely cheap. However, both of them are a little complex to set up.
You can quickly get started with Neocities, and you can easily move your files off it later. Simple head over to Necocities to sign up and get your own static website!
